About the Artist:
Armenian artist Edith Simonyan began her journey with a foundation in architecture. For almost two decades, she worked as an architect, but her passion for art craftsmanship led her to explore different avenues. Now, she has become renowned for her innovative use of the Oshibana technique, an ancient Japanese art form that involves using pressed flower petals and other botanical materials to create intricate designs—without any paint. Inspired by the rich floral heritage of Armenia and the delicate beauty of Armenian miniatures, she began to experiment with incorporating this technique into her artwork. Her pieces are characterized by their exquisite detail, vibrant colors, and the interplay of light and shadow—all hallmarks of traditional Armenian miniatures.
