Winds of Destiny

Winds Of Destiny

By Serpoohi Christing Jafferian

This book tells a tale familiar to any immigrant, and especially to those Armenian families who fled the Genocide.

Born of Armenian parents in Smyrna, Turkey, the author of this absorbing memoir was forced to leave home in the aftermath of the Turkish Genocide of the Armenians. Searching for a safe haven in Greece, then Cuba, and finally the United States, she was faced with the constant necessity to adapt to different peoples and cultures.

At times bewildered by conflicting values and torn by family obligations, the author manages to develop her own personality and gain the respect of her family and friends. This book is her story of determination to succeed without losing her self-respect, to serve her family and friends without giving up her individuality, and to remain faithful to her basic values in a rapidly changing society.
