Memories, in Engl.& Arm. SC
|
By Fr. Arnak Kasparian
In both English and Armenian, this memoir tells the story of Fr. Arnak Kasparian, who was born in Marash, Turkey, in 1922. While he was still an infant, his family fled to Aleppo, Syria. In 1936, at age 14, Fr. Arnak entered the Seminary of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and then came to America in 1947. After being ordained as a priest in 1948, he served as pastor at the St. John's Church of Detroit, MI; and then the St. Thomas Church of Tenafly, NJ, until his retirement in 1991.
He served on the Diocesan Council, from 1959 to 1967, including four years as chairman. He also served on the Board of Trustees of St. Nersess Armenian Seminary from its establishment in 1962 until 1986, and was secretary of the Board throughout his tenure.
His compelling and interesting stories give a first-hand account of the Diocese at an early, important stage in development.
100 pages English, 133 pages in Armenian, soft cover, includes several black and white photographs.
