Armenian Divine Liturgy : Articles

Armenia (region), historic region of western asia, which in ancient times was an independent country comprising southern caucasia and northeastern asia minor. However, until the fourth century, all christian churches celebrated christ's birth on january 6th. Armenia under the yervanduni dynasty soon became a satrapy of the mighty achemenide persia, and later part of the seleucid empire. In 1957 this diocese joined the national council of churches.

Some armenians began to call for independence like the greeks and others had already received, while some turks began to envision a new pan-turkic empire spreading all the way to turkic speaking parts of central asia. Each medium reveals peculiar characteristics. Mithridates knew that one day persia would confront the roman empire, and the battlefield would be a very strong army.

Armenian Divine Liturgy info: On august 10, armenia signed the treaty of sëvres, by which turkey recognized armenia as a free and independent state. They gave the name of a certain country called thessalia, were there was a city called armenia, and the king's name was armenos. During the greco-turkish war of 1920-1922 the armenians sided with the greeks against the turkish nationalist forces led by by mustafa kemal atatürk. The armenian alphabet played an enormous role in the preserving of the national and cultural identity of the armenian people, and enjoys a very special love and respect.
